Community Wind 101: A Primer for Policy-makers
Released by the 25' X 25' Alliance, The Energy Foundation and Harvesting Clean Energy, this report makes clear that community wind must be an integral part of the nation's energy strategy and lays out a set of public policies designed to grow local wind investment and ownership.
Specifically, Community Wind 101 finds:
Rural Wind Energy Development Revolving Loan Fund
The Minnesota Department of Commerce, Office of Energy Security has a Rural Wind Energy Development Revolving Loan Fund. The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance to owners of eligible community-based wind energy projects for wind studies and transmission interconnection studies.

The Thedford Community Development Corporation invites the public to an informational meeting on wind energy at Stub’s Restaurant in Thedford June 26, starting at 7 p.m.
Representatives from Nebraska Farmers Union will be on hand to discuss Nebraska's Community-Based Energy Development and explain the benefits of locally owned energy development.

Community Wind Meeting-Scott City, KS
A Community Wind Meeting will be held at the Wm. Carpenter 4-H Bldg. in Scott City, on north US83 Hwy., at the Scott County Fairgrounds. As you get to the north end of Scott City, turn east at the golf course (Fairground Road) and you can’t miss it.

This April 2008 report from the New Rules Project discusses how simple changes to the federal production tax credit (PTC) and SEC registration process for cooperatives could significantly reduce barriers to community ownership of wind.

South Central Kansas Regional Wind Energy Summit
With talk of wind as an alternative energy source for south-central Kansas, a wind energy summit is being planned for area producers, wind energy enthusiasts, landowners, county commissioners, city commissioners and other interested parties.
Steve Errebo, Lincoln County Commissioner, will give an overview of an entire completed wind farm project.
Community Wind Webinar from the Mid-Atlantic/ Southeastern Regional Wind Energy Institute - January 14, 2008
