Come learn about Oklahoma’s wind energy successes, energy policy developments, technology advancements, and what steps and actions are required to expand our state’s wind energy contribution to America’s energy mix. Featuring special keynote addresses by wind energy advocate T. Boone Pickens and Mark Tercek, CEO of The Nature Conservancy.

The passage of the Next Generation Energy Act of 2007 by the Minnesota State Legislature and Tim Pawlenty requires a study of the potential for dispersed renewable generation statewide. The study consists of two parts, Phase I and Phase II, which focus on installing a total of 1200MW of new dispersed renewable energy projects with a minimal impact on the transmission grid.

A Community Wind Meeting will be held at the Wm. Carpenter 4-H Bldg. in Scott City, on north US83 Hwy., at the Scott County Fairgrounds. As you get to the north end of Scott City, turn east at the golf course (Fairground Road) and you can’t miss it.

The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission will host an interconnection workshop March 18-19, 2008, in Pierre. The workshop will be held at the Kings Inn Hotel and Conference Center, 110 E. Sioux Ave. This will be the first of several workshops designed to develop a statewide best practices model for connecting small generating facilities to the electric grid.
